Show Summary
‘How I Met Your Mother’ is a comedy show all about a boy named Ted and series narrates his story especially how he falls in love. Series primarily runs with flashbacks from the future and events are set in 2030 when Ted Mosby gathers his son and daughter to tell the story of how he met their mother. Ted’s smoothly going life takes a drastic turn when Marshall, Ted’s best friend, tells him that he’s going to propose his long time girlfriend Lily, a kindergarten teacher. Looking his friend getting engaged to the lady, he loves too much, makes him realize that time may be running out for finding the true love of his life. Helping him in his quest to find the one who might be his dream girl and true love is Barney- an anti-Marshall guy who’s of thinking that he has a sound knowledge about women and he knows how to deal with a gorgeous lady. Ted’s quest to find his soul-mate appears to be reaching at its destination when he meets Robin Scherbatsky and his hearts starts saying that she’s the lady he’s looking for. Ultimately, he set his sights on her and it becomes the twist whether or not she’s the mother referred to in the title. What fate has in store and who’ll become the mother of his children and whom Ted will get married to- we keep on watching ‘How I Met Your Mother’ in order to find the answers of above questions and the mystery is still going on.
It was September 19, 2005 when ‘How I Met Your Mother’ was premiered on CBS Network. Based on a very unique plot and subject, series get huge response from viewers and gathered good ratings during its all seasons. As of now, ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is running with fourth season and two more seasons are likely to be a part of the show.
During the first season of series, Ted and Robin fall in love for each other and in the beginning of the second season; we see them as a couple. But, everything always remains in hands of future and we’re not even sure whether after four seasons Robin would be the one whom ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is all about!
Among the major star cast of series are-Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), Marshall (Jason Segel), Lily (Alyson Hannigan), Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin (Cobie Smulders). ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. WGA strike had an effect on the show but as the strike was over, it returned with new episodes. During 2008, Lifetime Television purchased the syndication rights to ‘How I Met Your Mother’ at $750,000 per episode.
